Here’s a list of some common animals, the name of their sounds in Italian, verbs, and other useful information:

  • bird -> l’uccello
    il cinguettio (chirp) -> cinguettare (to chirp) -> sound: cip-cip (chirp chirp, tweet tweet)

  • cat -> il gatto
    il miagolio (meow) -> miagolare (to meow) -> sound: miao (meow)
  • chick, chickadee -> il pulcino
    il pigolio (peep) -> pigolare (to peep) -> sound: pio-pio (peep peep)
  • cow -> la mucca
    il muggito (moo) -> muggire (to moo) -> sound: muu (mooooo)
  • crow -> il corvo
