Ciao a tutti!
I know that this blog has been silent for a while, and I apologize. Almost two years ago, I lost almost all of the posts due to a technical problem. Luckily, I still had all of my notes and research taken over the years.
I recently compiled all of my notes into a new ebook that is available for purchase. It combines learning Italian grammar with building your vocabulary. The title of the book is: Il vero italiano: your guide to speaking “real” Italian (for sale in the iBook Store and Google Play!)
I have been living in Rome since 2012 while I undertake research for my Master’s Degree. In that time, I’ve learned a lot of about the language that I never learned through books or Italian classes back in the United States. I wanted to communicate what I learned while at the same time writing a book that attempted to fill in some gaps. I wrote the book, and my friend, Francesco, helped me to edit it and provide some invaluable insight as well as helping me to construct examples that were not only useful in understanding how grammar worked but also examples that reflected how people really speak Italian!
Currently, the book is made up of six chapters on Verbs, Adverbs, Pronouns, Prepositions, Interjections, and Conjunctions. As new chapters are added, the book will be updated. So if you purchase the book, you will have access to future updates. We have five more chapters to add, possibly a sixth. Later updates to the iBook Store edition will have audio examples (possible also for Google Play edition, too, but still working on the technology).
Versions for the Kindle and Nook and other e-readers will be available at the end of the month.
That being said, I hope to resume regular updates to the blog starting in September!
